Welcome to Sycamore class, a safe place to learn and be your best in terms of engagement, critical thinking, independence, team work and experience. You are being prepared for the next big step to Secondary education and we want you confident, smart, and achieving your full potential.
In the morning Y6 focus on maths, reading, grammar and writing skills, which are often linked to a class text or theme. Sats are taken in May, followed by the highlight of Y6, a residential trip to PGL and final production!
Y6 pupils are encouraged to take on school responsibilities such as head of house and monitor roles, and to participate in community sport and activities.
In the afternoon, Y5 and Y6 come together for exciting topic work covering: Science, Geography, History, RE, PE, Art and ICT. Maths and Literacy skills are reinforced throughout each subject. World War Two, Caring for the Earth, Lights, Camera, Action are some examples of the work you will cover.
Our aim is for you to leave Sycamore knowing you are valued and have been challenged to achieve every which way you can.
